The 2018 Camry, expected to go on sale in the third
quarter of 2017
The next-generation Toyota Camry will debut in
January at the Detroit auto show, Toyota confirms.
A teaser image of the 2018 Camry was released
by Toyota which shows sportier styling of the sedan than the current
generation. The image also shows a passenger-side brake light, which appears
thinner and longer than that on the current Camry.
The new Camry will be built on Toyota’s TNGA modular
platform, which will debut with the 2016 Prius.
Obviously, this prototype doesn’t reveal much about
the new production car, the base model will likely come with the same 2.5-liter
four-cylinder engine and a six-speed transmission like the 2017 Camry, along
with the hybrid model. A 2.0-liter turbo-four could join the replace the
optional V-6 engine.
