Toyota Leads Global Car Sales
in October and Outpaced VW Sales For Fourth Month to remain the world's
top-selling automaker so far this year.
Toyota has maintained its
position in the auto industry for the past four months as Volkswagen sales were
down by an emission scandal, also sold about 8.35 million vehicles worldwide in
the first 10 months of the year, outpacing Volkswagen despite a neck-to-neck
race, with Volkswagen sales at 8.26 million vehicle in the same period, Reuters
Report.
Earlier this month,
Volkswagen said its Volkswagen brand sales fell 5.3 percent year-on-year in
October, and Toyota net profit rose nearly 12 per cent to 1.258 trillion yen
($10.34 billion) at its fiscal first half through September.
Toyota Motor Corporation
appears stronger than ever and poised to take advantage of Volkswagen’s
downturn by trying to win VW customers.
